Think when Elon Musk and Grimes tried to proper name their infant Ten Æ A-12? Turns out that did not fly with the powers that be, as it featured numbers and non-English language characters.

So now the celeb baby boy, born May 12, is called 10 AE-XII, which - despite meaning unknown variable, artificial intelligence, precursor to the couples' favourite aircraft and the song Archangel - is apparently pronounced "Kyle". Who would have guessed?

OK, and then far, then kooky - just the tech billionaire and pop iconoclast aren't the showtime famous parents to melt upwards a weird infant name ...

Celebrities gifting their children with unconventional names really became a thing in the late 1960s and early 70s, with the maverick musician Frank Zappa naming his daughter Moon Unit of measurement, 53, now known equally Moon.

Actress Shannyn Sossamon, from The Holiday, Wayward Pines and Sleepy Hollow, named her eldest son Sound Science. She defended her choice by maxim she and her beau wanted a discussion, non a name, "so my boyfriend read through the lexicon three or four times and so nosotros named our boy Audio Science."
